RF Engineering Technician

We are seeking an entry level RF Engineering Technician demonstrating a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively develop and manage our equipment and processes. 


As an RF Engineering technician, you will be a working member of the overall RF/Systems Engineering team on next generation communication products. You will work under the direction of a technical lead and be a hands on part of a design team, working in a lab environment conducting tests and aiding in the integration of the design at the board, module, and higher levels of product integration.   


In this role you will: test, analyze, and repair engineering, network and telecommunications technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact development and/or operations.  You'll be responsible for the planning, calibration, installation and maintenance of the organizations equipment, components, devices and systems. You will practice creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance 


RF Engineering Test Technicians on our Engineering team may also be asked to develop test specifications and procedures and are sometimes tasked with report preparation and documentation of technical issues. Ultimately, you will deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet our customers changing business needs   It is a great role with a lot of room for technical advancement and potential for growth. 


To get to an interview, your resume needs to include reference to the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Associates degree and minimum 2 years' related work experience
  •  Familiar with RF test equipment up to 40 GHz. This includes vector signal network analyzers, communication signal analyzers and a variety of spectrum analyzers as well as high speed oscilloscopes.
  • Familiar with automating test process though software such as Labview.
  • Ability to develop test procedures, maintain test equipment integrity and generate test reports
  • Experience in conducting tests and aiding in the integration of board design, module, and higher levels of product integration 
  • Familiar with large signal characterization of high power amplifiers including Pout, IIP2, IIP3, and P1dB compression point as well as load pulls of discrete devices and circuits. Thermal management of the test environment and experience working with cold plates as well as environmental chambers.
  • Some familiarity with modeling and characterizing board level circuit designs, packaging, antennas, and RF front-ends 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering design
  • Ability to support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the company culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures 

Desired skills:

  • Experience or interest with Software Defined Radios
  • Experience with legacy analog AM and FM waveforms and measurements
